Computational Media///1500 x 600 Pixels
This piece started as an experiment in color and gradually evolved into a living, breathing stand alone project. I wanted the colors to be related to each other while also having their own distinct place on the sketch. The rocks act as a sort of grounding point, anchoring the sand in place. The shadows that run over the entire scene look both like seagulls and plane, intentionally so, as the sketch is only a memory- fuzzy, abstract, only somewhat grounded in reality. So the water is diced into pieces, the rocks have no depth, and the shadows are hard to define. This sketch is based off my own fuzzy memories of the beach, being born and raised on Long Island.
